Let me start by saying I think Oanda is probably better than most of the other brokers out there. They deposit and withdraw your monies quickly and efficiently. They have good spreads (except for the manipulation, which I will explain in a second). Now for the dirt... Their platform sucks. They do not have trailing stops. And I'm not a computer programmer, but It would be nice if a programmer could disect their platform to see if Java and the price quotes are being manipulated. I've been with them for about 8 months now, and have done several hundred trades, side by side with a MT4 platform. It seems that when the price action is going against you, it moves very quickly most of the time, when it moves in your favor it slows way down. This is very subtle. When it moves in your favor, it seems to always stop at break even; and only continues when there is a large (ie. 3 or 4 pips) movement. Or it will move a paultry .2 or .4 pips. I think they have manipulated this to discourage scalpers:( . Also, when you are buying, the price consistently stays 1 or 2 pips above other platforms, And when you sell, Yep you guessed it, the price magically stays even or 1 pip lower. You may think I'm paranoid, but I'll tell you, sitting and staring at my computer screen for hours and hours every day has yeilded these observations. When you click your mouse button, sometimes it takes a few seconds to close the position. This gives Oanda, enough time to "snatch" a pip or two also. I think sometimes that this is a reality of the market. But I also think that the brokers take advantage of it. It might just be a few pips to us, But with the "millions" of transactions they have every day; it adds up to some BIG BUCKS my friends.
